End of the Year and all that

It is almost time to say goodbye 2015 and hello to 2016 (where has this year gone?!) And of course it is that time of year for all the 'new year, new me' rubbish.

I always try and do a New Year's Resolution. Last year it was to continue being a veggie and cook something new every month which I did.

This year... Well this year I am going to expand some of my skills further - hopefully!

So here is 'End of the Year, New Years resolution'...

Goodbye 2015

As we say goodbye to what has been a rollercoaster of year, it is time to reflect.

From the general election, the refugee crisis and high profile deaths to same-sex marriage legalisation, and the new Bond film Spectre, it has been a crazy ride!

End of the year!
But here are my highlights of the year I have had!

So here is 'Goodbye 2015, A look back'...

First things first... Can you believe it is Christmas Eve already like where has December gone?!?!?!?!?!

For the penultimate post I will be showing you have to make a delicious alternative to Christmas Pudding!

Yummy meringue ready for decorating
I cannot stand Christmas Pudding, I personally think it is disgusting and so does the rest of my family therefore I bake something every Christmas Eve for Christmas dinner dessert.

Last year was a gingerbread house (that took forever) and this year... A fruity Pavlova by the Queen of baking herself, Mary Berry!

A Christmas 'star' is found

I have an artificial Christmas tree in my room what I put up every year and decorate it with lots of pretty, small baubles.

The one thing I was missing was a tree topper.  You got to have a tree topper!!!

So walking around town, I found one! It is so pretty and perfect for my little tree.

Pimms and Needles| A festive event

A special post for day ten in the fact that this is where I write about my fab time at Pimms and Needles!
The December evening certainly lived up to my expectation last night and to make it even better, my friend Lauren came along too as a guest!
Ready with my mocktail and mag!
Filled with mocktails (cocktails minus the alcohol), mulled wine, makeup demostrations and Christmassy stalls, it certainly got us in the mood for the big day! (Can you believe it is only 15 days away, crazy?!)
So as I currently tuck into my chips and garlic sauce whilst writing this at 11pm on the 9th, here is '25 Days of Christmas| Day Ten'...

So when I saw this heart shaped decoration and for a bargain price I just had to purchase it!

Todays Christmassy treat will be in the form of a film I absolutely love. Elf. If you didn't get the reference in the title then you definitely need to keep on reading!

This 2003 film is definitely one to watch every year. It is funny, sad and very festive so perfect for all of the family so I thought I would put in a little film review as a part of this blog post series.

Sweet treats for you

A short and easy post today that will show you a simple idea for a gift or even table decoration for a party or an event.

For any party, the decorations and table layout is key. And of course the food especially the sweet treats yummmmmmmmmmmmy! In terms of a gift, you sometimes want something different and unique to give to the person soooooo why not do...

Drum roll..... *drumming sounds*

Sweets in jars. Simple as it sounds ha!

Another nice thing about this is that it does not take long at all, just a few easy steps.

Holy fudge, that's goooooood!

So you may or may not know that whilst I was at Festival of Thrift on Saturday (if not you can read all about it here), I bought some delicious looking homemade fudge from Urban Fudge's stall.

I love fudge, it is one of my favourite sweet things on this planet.

Of course I bought four different flavours as they had an offer on so here are the fudges: Rocky Road, Millionaire, Salted Caramel and Honeycomb so I thought why not write a review on them.

No7 Foundation Review*

You may or may not have read my post about the No7 Bloggers Event (read here) but if you did, then you will know I got a foundation as my free product, woooo.

Normally, I don't wear foundation. One because my skin is really sensitive and two, I just don't have time on a morning to put it on etc. Aka I would rather have an extra 5 minutes of sleep then do my makeup on a morning... Priorities haha!

However, due to this, I decided I would try it out for a change and see if I really should use it!

Pimms and Needles Wreath Making

As a member, I was reallllllly looking forward to this one as we were doing something that was on my bucket list... We were wreath making.

Getting my things together!
This flower head looks like
a heart aww!
Wreaths are usually made/bought for the Christmassy period. Normally hung up on front doors, they just scream festive to me so I was super intrigued in how you make one. I will try and show you how to make one but I am not an expert so bare with me haha!

Brave New (and odd) World review

A step away from my Fancy that of London post series today with a review on a play that really left me quite confused and kind of traumatised. Aldous Huxley's Brave New World.
I saw this performance last night with a group as a Young Reporter for Theatre Cloud. Exciting times!
However, it did leave me with very mixed feelings!

Not another blog update (hahaha)

I know, I know, I only did one of these a couple of months ago but here is another blog update.

As you may or may not, I have changed my blog name about 4 times now (I am just never satisfied and a bit of perfectionist), I haven't felt like they have been a catchy but personal name to have for my platform.

So Cheer Up Buttercup has been chosen now. I love this saying, I use it to make myself and other feel better. Sometimes it doesn't work and some times it does, its just a little something that reminds me that there are plenty of things to smile about in a bad situation. It cheers me up!

Don't worry, the blog content will still be the same but I am also going to include some more posts about things that have affected me, that is happening in the world or something that I am passionate about. I have done a couple of these before (On the topic of... posts and some others) but I think it would be useful for me to express certain emotions that you may feel too.

But yeah, I hope you like my new blog name and I will see you in my next posts!

Until next time

All photographs are my own!

10 Years of You Me At Six, Why I love them!

Time flies when you are having a rocking time and clearly this is the case for Surrey born rock band You Me At Six who celebrate their 10th year together today! Crazy, I know!

A taste of what's to come

Going to tell you guys straight, I utterly love them. They are my favourite band ever.

The first song I listened to was 'Kiss and Tell', taken from their first album Take Off Your Colours and from then, I have been obsessed with them. Buying magazines with them on the front cover or with them in it, having numerous lyrics on my bedroom walls, posters, merchandise, albums, them following me on twitter, replying and 'favouriting' some of my tweets. OBSESSED!

So why do I love Josh Franceschi (singer), Max Helyer (guitarist), Matt Barnes (bassist), Chris Miller (guitarist) and Dan Flint (drummer) so much?
Well, to celebrate this huge milestone they have reached today, here are 6 (get it...) reasons why I love You Me At Six...

So today marks a very special day for one of my favourite actors. It's Bradley James' 32nd Birthday.

Happy 1st Birthday Hunter

So today marks the day that a little pup was born into the world. My brother's and his girlfriend's pup to be precise, Hunter.

Taken: 7th May 2015
I think they got this cute black cocker spaniel, when he was 3 months (I could be wrong) but ever since I laid my eyes on him, the camera has always been out and I pretty sure he probably hates me for taking so many photos of him but its hard to resist!

However over the past months, I have photographed him growing up and getting even cuter (if that's possible) so here are my favourite photographs I captured in 'Happy 1st Birthday Hunter| Doggy photographs'...
