A letter to my 16 year old self

Another day, another post in the GG blog challenge.

For this, we have to write a letter to our 16 year old self. A lot of things happened when I was 16 and I haven't really talked about them, not in full detail so this should be interesting.

Me in Mexico, just before turning 16, taken by my friend :)
So here is '#TheGirlGang Blogging challenge (Day Nine)'...

Dear 16 year old Caroline,

Life is crap at the moment, I know. You are going through some really rubbish times, you don't know how to handle it, you feel alone. The funny thing is, you aren't alone. You were never alone.

You hate school, you hate home, bullies are ruining your life and you don't know what to do. You are crying yourself to sleep every night, dreading waking up and you have know idea what to do with your life.

However, you will get there. Where ever there is! You will do what you always do, have a cry and move on.

Five years later, it is still kinda like that. Your brother is still horrible to you but you rise up and ignore him because you finally realised he isn't worth your tears or you as a sister.

You have no idea what you are doing with your life.
But the thing you haven't realised yet, is that is ok.

You will also have learned how to love yourself and your body. People say you need to fit in this thing. The thing that is telling you that you have to be a certain size, have to have the perfect hair and the perfect body. The perfect life. That doesn't exist.
And you feel so low about your appearance that you comfort eat to take away the pain you are feeling. I am now dealing with that and its consequences. But that is ok again, I am slowly but surely getting there.

In the next five years, you will achieve things you dreamt of doing.
You go to college, will have two degrees in Journalism, 60 words per minute in Teeline Shorthand, you would have set up a blog you are so passionate about.
And finally, and most importantly, you will be yourself.

See you in five years!
Caroline

...
Well there you go, a letter to my younger self!
See you tomorrow
