Globetrotters| Madrid, Spain

As we come to the end of January [about damn time, doesn't it feel like this month has lasted for a year], it is time to, hopefully, wave goodbye to the cold weather, feeling like death warmed up from the flu and say hello to the beginning of Spring, kinda.

I don't know about you but I often find myself looking at holidays around this time of year, to get away from the dullness of the British weather and go somewhere a little bit more warmer, not too warm though as I will come back looking like a tomato. Due to this, I thought I would put my Globetrotters series [yeah, remember this blog series that was supposed to be monthly but turned out I am useless at remember to do it], to use and well.

So we are off to sunny Spain today...

Madrid, Spain

  • Madrid is the capital city of Spain, has more than 3.1 million people living there and is the third largest city in the EU, after London and Berlin
  • Popular tourist destinations include: Royal Palace of Madrid, the Royal Theatre, Buen Retiro Park, 19th Century National Library, Cibeles Palace and Fountain
  • It's Spain's most visited city
  • The warmest month is July, with temperatures reaching 32-33 degrees, and the coldest month is either December or January, where they have snowfall and frost.
  • Madrid is made up of 21 districts and is a part of the Metropolitan Area, which consists of Madrid and forty surrounding cities.
  • Through the streets of the city, there are a variety of outdoor sculptures and there are numerous museums to go and explore in
And there we go, I totally want to get lost in Madrid, it sounds like such a splendid city!
Until next time
