-some swearing and some scene that may upset viewers-

Now, this TV show is one to definitely one to watch and I will tell you why. It is set in Belfast, Northern Ireland and is a crime drama. And an intense one too!

So a little bit about what it is (without giving too much away so I am going to blunt).
Like I said, it is set in Belfast and follows DSI Stella Gibson, a senior investigating officer who is tasked with reviewing an investigation. Things take a sinister turn when it becomes apparent a serial killer is on the loose. Gibson, along with other officers, must work and track down Paul Spector who has been attacking young professional women in the city. But will Spector get caught?

Now one of the reasons why I adore this show is because it is set in Ireland and my favourite accent is Irish. However, the main reason is because it is just so dark, thrilling and intense. The way Paul (played by Dornan) thinks and plans his victims and their murder is precise and fascinating to watch as a viewer. The way you know he is the killer for the start is great and refreshing to watch, much different from the 'Who Dunnit' type of series we most commonly see on the box.

Paul, the serial killer, is played by 50 Shades of Grey actor Jamie Dornan and well, he is just so perfect in this role. He brings a sense of confidence and sinister aspect yet another completely different side to the character, a family man in the scenes with his wife and two young children. He entices you in with his movements, they way he speaks and those piercing brown eyes.

Stella on the other hand is a marmite kind of character. You either love her or hate her. Played by The X Files Gillian Anderson, she is dominate, fierce, takes no prisoners woman, whose determination to catch Paul is clear in all episodes. Her feminist ways and strong willed attitude is empowering and refreshing to see on the small screen.
However, both character are like strawberries and cream, ying and yang, Batman and Robin, they work perfectly together, even if they are on opposite ends of the spectrum.

However fans of another well known BBC hit drama series can also enjoy this intoxicating show. For any Merlin fans out there then a recognisable warlock can be seen in the second series (he isn't in the first). Irish actor Colin Morgan, who played the title role, plays DS Tom Anderson who is drafted in by Stella to help solve the case mid way through the series. Now I for one am a huge HUGE fan of Colin, I have admired (loved, obsessed) over him since Merlin and it was perfect that he would be in this. The emotional thing is that he is reunited with his father Balinor (in Merlin) as John Lynch plays Jim Burns in this, Stella's boss.

There are 11 episodes all together, five in series one and six in series two. The way both of them end is so riveting, leaving you wanting more and wanting to find out what happens next.
Both series focuses on the murders, the hunt and whether or not Stella captures Paul and brings him to justice.
Don't get me wrong, it does have its falls, one of them being that Stella can be very annoying sometimes but that is because she is so determined. However, it is cleverly paced, with plot twists coming in thick and fast but not in a way that leaves you confused unlike some series like this.

For those who adore watching crime dramas such as ITVs Broachchurch, BBCs Luther and The Missing, then this is definitely one to watch!
